On Tuesday, November 9, dozens of members of the local homeless community received free foot and nail care from Campbell Clinic physicians and Campbell Clinic Foundation volunteers as part of the orthopaedic clinic’s annual participation in ‘Our Hearts to Your Soles’. This year’s event was sponsored by AutoZone and held at the Memphis Union Mission’s Opportunity Center in Downtown Memphis.
Our Hearts to Your Soles is a nonprofit with the mission to provide those less fortunate with footwear and free foot examinations. Supporters of the program believe that proper foot health is an essential part of everyday life that should be available to all, as it is important to an overall health maintenance program.
Ten providers offered foot and nail care, while ten additional volunteers fitted clients for socks and shoes, donated by Red Wing Shoes.
Campbell Clinic’s own Dr. David Richardson, a foot and ankle specialist, has organized Campbell Clinic’s participation in this effort for many years, with the event being held each November.
