Campbell, Vanderbilt, UAMS and West TN Bone and Joint host National Shoulder & Elbow Week Celebration in Memphis

On Thursday, May 14, Campbell Clinic’s Drs. Tyler Brolin, Quin Throckmorton and Frederick Azar, joined by colleagues from Vanderbilt, Univ of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and West Tennessee Bone and Joint, hosted the American Shoulder & Elbow Surgeons Foundation “National Shoulder & Elbow Week” Celebration and Forum in Memphis.

Thanks to the Diamond-Level support of Enovis, Zimmer Biomet, Campbell Clinic, plus twenty additional healthcare partners, more than 125 gathered at Crosstown Concourse to celebrate and recommit progress in shoulder health and patient mobility.

With a logistics and manufacturing workforce largely dependent on healthy shoulders, as well as a growing and thriving throwing sports community, the message and call to action could not be more relevant and acute.

With opening remarks by Crosstown Concourse CEO Todd Richardson, Dr. Brolin led the forum, with insights shared by Dr. Throckmorton and Vanderbilt University College of Medicine’s Dr. Jed Kuhn.

In addition, Duncan Williams, Chairman of the Greater Memphis Chamber, implored attendees to nurture partnerships.

“You travel, collaborate nationally, and bring new ideas and expertise back to this region. That kind of connection matters.”

He went on to explain, “Partnership matters so much. Progress does not happen in silos. Business leaders, healthcare providers, researchers, educators, and innovators all have a role to play in driving transformational change. When people can stay healthy, recover from injuries, remain active, and return to work, families are stronger, companies are stronger, and our economy is stronger.”

The NSEW Memphis event was one of eight across the country. Proceeds will support research grants to expand shoulder and elbow care and patient well-being.
