Meet the Foundation Team

Each month, we’ll ask a few questions of the team behind the Campbell Clinic Foundation. First up, our research guru and the one who makes everyone feel special on their birthday, Margaret Knack!

Margaret Knack, RN, BSN, MS, CCRP, Research Manager, Campbell Clinic Foundation

When did you join the Campbell Clinic Foundation?

February 2014

What’s something you wish more people knew about the Campbell Clinic Foundation?

We have a ROBUST research program spanning five subspecialties.  There are 140+ active research studies going on right now!

What was your first job?

Working at Emery Five and Dime as a cashier and inventory stocker.

What led you to this career?

My family was devastated by a traumatic brain injury to my Dad.  Although I was only four years old, I knew which people cared and which ones were “just showing up”.  My passion is to care for others as if they were my family.

What’s a work-related accomplishment you’re really proud of?

I’m very proud that we have developed a system, the MSAR (Mission Statement Activity Report), to account and record the research success of our Surgeons.

What do you like about the field of orthopaedics?

Orthopaedics is a specialty that touches so many lives-correcting newborn deformities, repairing athletic injuries, replacing ‘worn out parts”, and rebuilding bodies following acute trauma.  We help people feel and function better at all stages of life!

How do you unwind after a busy day?

I love to spend time with my grandsons, cycle with my husband, walk and listen to podcasts.
