The Campbell Clinic Foundation is proud to announce the triumphant conclusion of its Residency Program Centennial Celebration, Ingram Memorial Lecture and the 26th Annual Campbell Club Triennial, held in Memphis on April 4-6, 2024. World-Class Expertise: Renowned alumni, orthopaedic specialists, and researchers convened to share insights and expertise on the latest advancements in orthopaedic surgery, sports medicine, and musculoskeletal health. Keynote addresses by leaders in the field provided invaluable perspectives on emerging trends and future directions. At the Ingram Lecture, esteemed visiting faculty included Dr. Javad Parvizi and Dr. John Kelly, as well as presentations from the Campbell Clinic Foundation graduating residents.
Residency Centennial: Celebrating 100 years of teaching orthopaedic surgeons in 2024, the UTHSC-Campbell Clinic Residency Program has reached an incredible milestone. The weekend serves as an opportunity to recognize the Campbell alumni who serve millions of patients across the globe. More than 600 Campbell-trained physicians relieve pain, treat bone and joint conditions, and restore wellbeing.
National Reach: The symposium drew participants from across the country, transcending geographical boundaries to unite professionals in a shared pursuit of orthopaedic excellence. The diverse perspectives and experiences enriched the dialogue, fostering cross-cultural collaboration and learning.
Campbell Awards: This year, the Campbell Club hosted the second Campbell Awards to honor and celebrate the extraordinary achievements and excellence displayed by Campbell Clinic alumni. Five awards were presented to recognize individuals’ leadership, service, and contributions to the field of orthopaedics. Recipients included:
- Rising Star: Byron F. Stephens, MD, MSCI (Class of 2015)
- Humanitarian & Community Service: Kenneth L. Moore, MD (Class of 1975)
- Teaching: E. Lyle Cain, Jr., MD (Class of 1999)
- Innovation & Research: Jeffrey M. Smith, MD, FAAOS, FACS, CPC (Class of 1995, Fellowship 1997)
- Lifetime Achievement: Walter R. Shelton, MD (Class of 1979)
